What is the Perfect Christmas Gift?

By Emily Latimer

What is the perfect Christmas gift for that "someone special" on your Christmas List? Don't just wait till the last minute like last year! There is still time to do a bit of homework and really surprise them this year! Let us help you in your journey to ascertain that perfect gift...

a) Do you remember the Boy Scout motto "Always be prepared"? This works on those camping trips in the woods, but it also works when you are compiling your Christmas List as well. From today moving forward, whenever you are around that "special someone", take note of what they say and do. This is especially true if you happen to go shopping with them. They will often give you hints and clues as to what they would like to receive for Christmas. Such as:

"Sweet...I'll remember this for the future".

"If money grew on trees..."

"I'd like it better if it was in green".

Make a mental note of comments such as these and remember to write them down when you get the chance. These little comments are gems when it comes to ascertaining the perfect gift to get him or her.

b) Does that "special someone" have a favorite hobby or pastime? Do they enjoy following a particular sports team, or partake of a particular hobby? If so, there is often something that you can get them to help them enjoy their pastime all that more. The key is, what is it? Even if you are not an expert on their pastime, there is someone out there who is. You could call up your local hobby store, or perhaps post a question on an internet forum. Ask them "what is the perfect gift for someone who enjoys "...fill in the blank..."? People love to talk about their hobbies, and I'm sure they would love to help you out.

c) Friends know an awful lot about each other...including what they might like in the form of a gift. While this information may not be on the foremost of their mind, it might be lurking somewhere inside... You just need to "jog their memory" a bit... Come equipped with your own potential ideas, and even some photos or pictures of what you were thinking of getting. You could always cut some pictures out of an old catalog. The key is to use "whatever" to jog their memory, and as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words...

So, there you have it...some simple ideas to get you started in determining that perfect gift for people on your Christmas List. Want more specifics? How about the "Hot Items" for Christmas this year? If so, check out the blog: www.ExcellentChristmasList.com
